Sound Poisoning

An alternative wellness performance in collaboration with Danielle Baskin.

Sound baths are an increasingly popular way to relax and unwind. Participants lay back and space out while the practitioner improvises a variety of ambient audio textures.

In Sound Poisoning, these audio textures are comically hostile. The audience is exposed to a variety of poisonous sounds, including a yelling neighbor, popcorn eating with LaCroix slurps, Slack notifications, and Wonderwall.

All sounds are performed in their native medium to ensure energetic fidelity. No recordings are used unless that is how the sound is typically encountered.
